The clouded leopard (Panthera nebulosa) is a medium-sized feline with a unique spotted pattern and rosette-shaped rings, which give it its name. Its fur is dense and soft, allowing it to camouflage itself in the dense vegetation of its habitat. One of its most distinctive features is its long, prehensile tail, which it uses to climb trees with agility.
Habitat
The clouded leopard inhabits the tropical forests of Asia, from the eastern Himalayas to the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. It prefers mountainous areas and areas with dense vegetation, where it can find shelter and abundant prey.
Reproduction
The reproduction of the clouded leopard is not yet known in detail. Females usually have one cub every two years, and gestation lasts approximately 90 days. Cubs are born in a hidden den and are cared for by the mother for the first few months of life.

Food
The clouded leopard is a solitary, nocturnal hunter. Its diet is varied and includes a wide range of prey, such as monkeys, birds, rodents and small ungulates. Its agility and ability to climb trees allow it to capture prey at different levels of the forest.
Conservation Status
The clouded leopard is listed as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) . The main threats it faces are habitat loss due to deforestation, poaching and illegal trade in its parts.
How to help conserve the clouded leopard
There are a number of actions we can take to help protect this species:
Support conservation organisations working to protect the clouded leopard's habitat.
Consume sustainable products and avoid those that contribute to deforestation.
Educate others about the importance of conserving biodiversity.
Report any illegal activities related to hunting or wildlife trade.
The clouded leopard is a fascinating and iconic species of Asian forests. However, its survival is at risk due to human activities. It is essential to take urgent action to protect its habitat and ensure the conservation of this unique species.
