Semi-aquatic reptiles such as the crocodile, caiman, alligator and gharial are often confused with each other due to their similar appearance. However, they have notable differences in their physiognomy, distribution and behavior.
Crocodile: It is characterized by its "V"-shaped snout, an extremely powerful bite and the ability to live in salt and fresh water. Its skin is rougher and its lower teeth can be seen when it closes its mouth.
