What is the history?
From the Nahuatl Itz-cui-na-pan -Where there are water dogs-, and where according to historians the first conglomerates of people took advantage of the wealth of the area in terms of fishing and agriculture, forming the first town in the region called Ahuchen around there. the years of 1500. Later, due to harassment by pirates, a second settlement called Pueblo Viejo was founded. However, banditry and the social and cultural problems of that time caused new settlements to form a very prominent one called -Izquinapa-, forming part of the province of Chametla, along with the provinces of Sinaloa and the province of Culiacan, which Today it is the State of Sinaloa.
