Soccer and Mexican sports in general have experienced stagnation for decades, physical activity and the ball stops rolling more and more.
The low competitive level in Mexican soccer is a complex issue with multiple causes that are interrelated. Regardless of the problems that we all already know such as corruption, excess of foreigners on the field and the absence of promotion and relegation, some of the most important factors that contribute to this situation are beyond the grass, these are the most notable:
1 -Lack of investment in sports: At the government level, a relatively low budget is allocated to sports, which limits the development of infrastructure, the training of coaches and the implementation of sports promotion programs in schools.
2-Social inequality: Socioeconomic inequality in Mexico is a factor that negatively affects sport. Children and young people from the most disadvantaged areas often have less access to opportunities to play sport in an organized way, which limits their potential to develop their skills and talents.

3-Problems of violence: Violence in Mexico, both in the streets and in stadiums, generates an environment of insecurity that discourages participation in sports activities, especially in the lower categories. In the most marginalized areas of Mexico, organized crime "recruits" young people, it is totally regrettable. In many cities, the lack of safe and appropriate public spaces for sports can be an obstacle for young people to be physically active.
4-Changes in leisure habits: Traditional leisure activities, such as playing in the park or playing sports, have largely been replaced by more sedentary activities, such as watching television, playing video games or surfing the Internet.
5-Increased time in front of screens: Young people today spend much of their free time in front of screens, whether televisions, computers, smartphones or tablets. This limits the time available for physical activities.
Per capita income in Mexico has increased in recent decades, but still presents significant disparities between different regions and social groups. Factors such as labor informality, wealth concentration and regional inequality influence this figure.
6-Football is no longer seen as a way of growth by young people: With the growth in the use of technology and social networks, new generations are seeing other types of paths to success, apparently an "easier" path, leaving the side sport. Case of football, which requires resilience, discipline and a lot of effort.
7-Lack of opportunities and corruption: To reach a first division team, young people must jump over obstacles such as corruption in scouting, or semi-coaches. Having contacts or acquaintances is crucial to reaching a first team, which is why the most marginalized young people get lost along the way, even when they have enormous potential for sporting development.
8-Family disintegration: The lack of support or incentive from the family for young people to practice sports can also be a factor that discourages participation in physical activity.
9-Dependency on individual talent: In some sports, success is based largely on the individual talent of athletes, and not so much on systematic work to develop the sport at a collective level. In sport, as in any other activity, it is essential to promote a culture of teamwork.
It is true that there are various obstacles that hinder the path to professional success in Mexican soccer, and these challenges disproportionately affect young people from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, but unfortunately the decline gap continues to plummet, and they are increasingly The success stories in Mexican soccer are more isolated. For Mexican sport to reach its maximum potential, it is necessary to comprehensively address the problems mentioned above and work together to create a more favorable environment for the development of sport at all levels, government and society.
