Five LGBTQ scientists who changed the world
Many LGBTQ scientists left a great legacy, advances and discoveries for humanity
The LGBTQ community made up of great artists, activists, businessmen and people who fight against discrimination and in favor of gender expression and identity, also have great scientist community who, over time, have changed the history of the world.
1- Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859).- Prussian naturalist (European state in the Baltic Sea, today Poland-Germany) and explorer of Central and South America, and also with his research and books, he laid the foundations for geography, physics and meteorology modern. Humboldt was a very influential European leader.
Alexdander V. Humboldt managed to collect a lot of relevant data on the climate, flora and fauna of the area, as well as determine longitudes and latitudes, measurements of the Earth's magnetic field.

2- Alan Turing (1912-1954).- British mathematician who is considered the father of modern computing. He is credited with the invention of the enigma computer where he was able to decipher the German military codes in World War II, contributing to the victory of the allied countries.
3- Isaac Newton (1643-1727) .- English mathematician who established the foundations of classical mathematics through laws that bear his name. He described the laws of universal gravitation and classical mechanics. He discovered color spectrums and that natural laws govern movement on earth.
4- Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519).- Italian scientist, engineer and artist, researcher of human anatomy, mathematician. Da Vinci shaped the first helicopters, tanks, weapons and submarines, including the use of solar energy.

5- Bruce Voeller (1934-1994).- American Biologist and researcher on the implications of HIV who promoted the application of Nonoxynol-9 as a preventive spermicide against this disease. He established the Mariposa Foundation for Sexual Conduct, with a special emphasis on reducing the risk of sexually transmitted diseases.
