2. Caifanes. "El silencio" (1992). Considered by many to be the crowning achievement of this Mexican band, who are legendary despite a short recording career. On this album, Caifanes adopted their own identity, with the precise fusion of folklore and rock.
"El Silencio" by Caifanes: A Classic Rock Album
Starting with "Metamorfeame" you are hooked, and the pure flavor continues with "Nubes", where Markovich's guitar starts to shine. Then comes "Piedra" which talks about Saúl's fight against drugs (and ends with a bizarre rhythm from a Sinaloa band).
And the rest are pure hits, including "Nos vamos juntos", "No dejes qué", "Debajo de tu piel", "El comunicador" (good review of the media), "El silencio" and "Mariquita" (very appropriate for the Day of the Dead). It's an enjoyable album from start to finish... so enjoy the good music, and quoting Caifanes: "We're going to make the sky bleed, we're going to do our thing seriously."
