The recent outage of X (formerly known as Twitter) has been confirmed to be the result of a massive cyberattack. Elon Musk, owner of the platform, reported that the attack involved significant resources, suggesting the possible involvement of a coordinated group or even a nation.
The attack began at around 6 a.m., affecting thousands of users who experienced problems accessing the platform. According to data from DownDetector.com, reports of the outage exceeded 40,000 by 10 a.m., with a further spike of over 25,000 reports in the afternoon. Musk noted that the attack could have been executed by a well-funded organization or even a nation state, and stated that the X team is working to track down the source of the attack.
